GoWeb provides a managed environment for the secure co-location (telehousing) of your equipment (servers, switches, routers, firewalls, etc, as required).

Colocation is available to suit a wide range of needs and we can provide rack space starting from single rack units (1 RU is 1.75 inches of vertical height, or about 4.4 centimetres). We use standard 19 inch wide racks.

Colocation is provided from highly specified data centres and provides an optimum environment in terms of security, power management, environmental controls, fire safety and network performance.

Basis of service pricing

Colocation service pricing is based on the following criteria. If you would like a quote please contact us and provide as much of the following detail as possible in order for us to give you the best available price for your needs.

• Amount of rack space required (in RU, if known; otherwise physical dimensions of the equipment to be colocated).
• Anticipated traffic volume per month (e.g. 500 Megabytes or 10 Gigabytes). If this is for a new service you will be offering and you are unsure of traffic levels at this stage, your best estimate will be fine. For higher volume applications, traffic is also available on a dedicated pipe-size basis (e.g. 5 Mbps flat rate price).
• Ratio of inbound to outbound traffic. Most hosting applications tend to have more outbound than inbound traffic. If you know your traffic ratio already that is great; otherwise an estimate is fine. If you have any traffic graphs from your current colocation provider (e.g. mrtg graphs) that will definitely help us get a feel for your traffic profile.
• Any special requirements you may have beyond the standard 1 x 100Mbps Fast Ethernet port, 1 x IP address, 1 x power outlet (normally 240V in Australia, 220V in Europe, 110V for Japan/U.S.A.).
• Geographic location preference if you wish to have your server located in a particular location.

Need Hardware?

If you sign up for 12 months or more, we can provide new, high-quality, 3 year warranty-backed, 1 RU servers starting from a discounted price of $1760 including GST (as at July 2005). Our base model is the ASUS AP140R-E1, with a 3.0GHz P4 processor, 1GB ECC DDR400 RAM and a pair of 80GB 7200rpm SATA drives, which can be configured into a RAID1 device on most operating systems.
